The association is solicited by the public service nurse at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) for the case of M. C. It concerns a young man who came to Switzerland to begin a temporary contract in Basel, in equestrian education. He leaves his wife and daughter in Colombia. He arrives a few weeks before beginning his job, and while visiting Geneva suffers from an illness and finds himself hospitalized at HUG. Diagnosis: brain tumor, currently paralyzed with a bad prognosis. His contract is therefore cancelled. He has to return home to Colombia once his health stabilizes. The request is the following: can we help him pay the few months for which he didn’t contribute to the Colombian insurance so that when he returns he will be covered. He had stopped paying prior to leaving, thinking he would be insured in Switzerland. The association, among others, participated in this action in his dramatic situation.
